How Do I Make My Own Website Quickly?

By Gina Sue Corcoran

It's a scary and complicated process to make your own website if you haven't done it before. Luckily, there's help out there for you to make your own website if you look for it. The following is a process that's very easy to use and will help you get your website up and running.

First off, a domain name is required. The domain name is the URL of your website. You can get these from a plethora of websites, but a consistently quality source is godaddy.com for your domain name.

A web host is the next thing you need. Web hosts contain the web space where your site will be housed. In order to make sure you get the best experience possible with a web hosting provider, read a lot of literature on these sites before choosing.

Finesse the look of your website. Any old site builder will do, or WordPress will work effectively so you can host your blog yourself. Be sure that the content you want your guests to see is your own, not belonging to anyone else.

Next you will need to optimize your website. This means making sure everything works, ensuring that you aren't using too much of a specific keyword, and making your site readable to everyone who visits.

Publishing your site is next; also, get it picked up by major search avenues, such as Google or Yahoo. Often they will automatically pick up your site, but you can make this happen faster with articles you write about site-related topics, which are then uploaded to directories.

This really is all there is to answering the question "How do I make my own website?" As long as you follow these steps, you should be able to create any type of site that you want and get it showing up in search results.
