Follow The K.I.S.S Rule For Your Website!

The K.I.S.S rule is Keep It Simple, Stupid! When planning the website designing for your website make sure you don't forget that like any other thing in life even your website needs to be simple to be remembered. Everyone very easily forgets complex things. Your website needs to be easy to comprehend and must be easy to remember.

You need to organize the content that needs to go on your website. Content is KING! And it's true in all aspects. Think about all the content that needs to go on different pages. Segregate the content into the right sections (pages here). You need to understand the psyche of the visitor. If I walk into a departmental store and see all the products lying haywire and not segregated right

I'll not waste time there and walk into another departmental store. Similarly don't make the customer (in this case the site visitor) go through too many gateways to reach the desired information. For e.g. A lot of sites have a fancy looking homepage with just one tab that reads "ENTER SITE". One must try and not do that kind of design because it just increases the clicks for a visitor.

This is also one of the basic rules; don't make the visitor click too much! It just might be that the visitor loses his patience half way through and try and visit your competitor's website. So, make sure you don't make the visitor suffer from the clicks! Also, to keep in mind is the page length. It is ok to keep less clicks but too long a page to scroll down also becomes a little annoying to the visitor. Limit page length to 2 full screens generally. If it is text content only then 4-5 full screens is more than enough. Also make sure that each page has a tab at the end of it that leads the visitor to the homepage!
