Beauty schools are often run by experts in the field and they are often more inexpensive to attend. While you may not necessarily receive a college degree for attending a beauty school, you should be healthy to achievement away with a certificate of completion.

If you do decide that you would like to attend a college, university, or beauty school, to get the proper amount of beauty training, there are a number of important factors that you may want to take into consideration. The above mentioned factors are just a few of the many that you may want to take into consideration, when choosing a beauty school to attend. If you are interested in researching beauty schools, colleges, and universities on your own, you may want to think about turning to the internet. With a standard internet search, with a phrase like ?beauty schools,? you should be healthy to find the online websites of numerous beauty schools, as well as colleges and universities that have cosmetology programs. If you are still in high school, you may want to think about approaching your guidance counselor for assistance.

Home Business - How To Use Your Online Marketing Skills

By mark lepsog

In today's marketing environment the weakest link is in the integration of online marketing with offline marketing. A well designed web site and a carefully organised print or electronic campaign are both teriibly crippled if they aren't tightly combined with the company or product website.

Here is what I mean; I looked at a recent local Newspaper. What I found was, when it comes to combining offline advertising with the web advertising, eighty seven percent of the ads in issue were either wasted or doing a poor job of communicating an Online presence for the advertiser's business.

Advertising is a tool. Advertising communicates benefits and simulates action. When an advertisement pulls a consumer to a website, the opportunity to present targeted information is huge. Motivated visitors are buyers. That means that your sales message and your website offer must work together. The marketing lures a potential client in and the website must give the visitor value to convert to sales.

Some people are will argue that advertising is a branding vehicle, and that you can not gauge an ads true success by its immediate pull. Simply stated, that's not accurate. When looking at all the advertisements I reviewed for this article, one hundred and twelve contained direct calls to action; visit, call, learn, contact, and so forth. Seventeen did not. Half were clearly suggesting that a visit to the business was a logical next step. When a call to action is presented, the ad's success must be based on the action being taken. From this point, the branding concept becomes an excuse if the ad does not perform as expected.

Logically, the next big question is "What should we do if the ad actually drives new visitors?" What happens if a visitor responds to the message and decides to take that highly desired next step of following the URL? What should happen is that these visitors should be sent to a high focused sales page. They should be presented with an offer that relates directly to the ad message they responded too. The offer should mention the referring publication for continuity and communicate an understanding of the visitors expectations. The offer should talk more specifically about the offer presented (solution, benefit, social proof... whatever). The offer should itself contain further calls to action or a clear process to purchase a product or service.

Online marketing is not a fore and forget media. Truth is, most visitors from the ads are dumped into a general pool of all visitors and left find the information they desired. This occurs without any focused content visible that relates to the ad they responded to.

From the ads reviewed I found that; 1. Sixty-six percent of the ads in our sample issue use a home page as the URL linked to. These ads cost a fair amount of money to deliver a message, and drove the visitor to a general page that had no specific next step (either graphically or textually). 2. Nine percent have no URL at all. 3. Twelve percent have unique URLs, but were wasted since the visitor was drive to a hit counter to determine pull.

These are simple errors that are easy to fix. Businesses everywhere are in dire need of cost-effective marketing solutions. The opportunity to provide quality consulting services has never been greater!

Have Your Own Website?

By Don Bethune

Would you like to get more website traffic for your own business, sell homemade products or have your very own web page? Have you ever wondered how to get free website traffic coming into your webpage? Or is it just too much work?

There are people out there that just donat want to learn about computers and this is why they pay other people to do the work for them. The can be from paying an independent worker, family or even friends. The only thing is that these people donat see that computers are becoming a very important part of our society.

Your web pages layout is very important in constructing a consistent flow of free website traffic. You may want to be plain and throw a website together in minutes just to have one. When you just throw something together people see that and instantly turn away.

When constructing your web page keep in mind things that will jump out at people. Put important things you want people to see in bigger font sizes, and use flashy images. Catching the attention of people is half of the battle.

Get to the point quickly. Most people don't have time any more, or are to impatient to take time. Make sure what your website is about is apparent. When writing a description let people know why they want to visit your page.

Another way to increase your website traffic is to use advertisements. I get website traffic canadian advertisements. But you can use advertisements from where ever or whoever you want. Just open a web browser and type in free advertisements and search through the results until you find what you like.

Without an eye catching layout your page could be passed up like a pop up. Remember animation isn't just for children. Animation is what eyes are instantly directed to, movement and bright colors. Type in flashing words into a web browser and take your pick.

It is easy to find free website traffic. All that you need to know is how to get peopleas attention and what questions should be asked. Remember to take the time to make your website professional and something that people will like to look at.

Working with CSS and Video

By Tom Hohnhaus

Because you are able to create a separate Stylesheet and link it to all your webdocuments, you have great control over how your website looks. So if you want to change a certain aspect of your page, you only need to alter one file: your Stylesheet! This Of course, generates some great flexibility. This flexibility is not available when your website is using tables for layout, inline font tags or inline defined colors. A single CSS file can contain positioning, layout, font, colors and style information for an entire web site. Watch this sample video ..My friend Dave shows you how he made $3,300 in 5 days by using one single online video! Watch the sample video http://tinyurl.com/ashsn8

2. Your site uses less bandwidth and loads faster Because stylesheets are so lightweight, your website will load much faster. The main reason is because you do not need table layouts anymore for the positioning of elements.Since text loads really really fast your website will be visible in a flash. This means that visitors will be happier when surfing your website. They only have to download the Stylesheet once, and it's automatically reused for every page. So the only thing that needs to be loaded is the actual content. On average a website will load five to ten times faster if it makes use of cascading style sheets. Watch the sample video http://tinyurl.com/ashsn8

3. Your website will automatically gain better search engine results With CSS, you can position any element, anywhere you want. So if your menu is at the bottom of your HTML document, you can bring it up using absolute positioning.

The reason this is useful is to make sure the search engine spiders pick up the main content first.

Another advantage you automatically gain is that your HTML code is much cleaner. So the search engine spider will not have to separate the junk code from the real content. So make sure you put your logo text and your menu at the bottom of your HTML document at put it at the top using CSS! Watch the sample video http://tinyurl.com/ashsn8

Reliable Web Hosting

By V DeFrank

It does not matter whether you want to host a five page website for a local charity or whether you intend to run an e-commerce operation complete with huge database and bandwidth requirements, the important thing is that everyone wants a web host that they can rely on and trust to deliver on promises, pay attention to their problems and support their needs. With web hosts springing up by the minute these days, it's getting harder for a lot of people to find the few that can offer the reliability needed.

Your web host will charge you a fee for monthly service that ranges from $10 or $20 to the more expensive $50.00 per month. Plan to pay between $300 and $500 per year to your web host.

Even if your site is recognized and considered by search engines, a professional domain name that uses your primary company name or associated words is likely to get more attention and be considered as a stable business by your prospective customers.

Be sure your web host can accommodate e-commerce and storefronts, wireless capability, bogs, forums, chats, online interactive helps and anything else you want to add onto your site.Estimate what your growth needs are and ensure that this web host can serve you as you grow. The last thing you want to do is change host mid way unless you absolutely have to do so.

You should also find out how long has your potential web host been in business as well as the experience and qualifications their employees have in terms of management of different kinds of hosting infrastructure. It's not as if new web hosts out there are no good but when it comes to hosting, there's no substitute for real hands-on experience. Technologies change and evolve and you want to ensure that your web host has personnel that are well-informed about current technologies and understand how to leverage such technologies to your advantage. These personnel also need a great deal of experience in order to be able to provide technical assistance when critical situations occur.

On much simpler levels, firing off an e-mail from the address listed on their contact page or calling their support line is also a good way to see how they respond to the needs of their clients. Reliable web hosts will always ensure that communication channels with their customers are always kept open, quick to respond and fully serviced in order to deal with problems and inquiries as they occur.

A reliable web host should also be able to deal with both the complex and simple requirements of customers. From the customer that knows little about computers and just needs a simple website hosted, to the geek that wants to know what .NET frameworks are available on their Windows web hosting platforms. Other than being technologically able, a reliable web host must also have customer friendly support staff that will take the required time to offer explanations and solutions to clients when they need them.

Financial Stability: If you're running very critical operations, you can't afford to be with a hosting company that may not be in business in a few months.

Linksys/D-Link Routers and your Cisco CCNA Lab

By CiscoKits

We get many CCNA students who ask us how to incorporate their Linksys/D-Link or similar Cable/DSL wireless router into their newly purchased Cisco CCNA lab. Although this can be done, it is not something we suggest.

I will touch on a few reasons we dont really recommend this setup, but I am sure if we really sat down and thought about it we could come up with more.

1)Depending on the model of the home Linksys/D-Link Cable/DSL router that you are talking about, many of them dont support the protocols you will be setting up in your Cisco CCNA home lab. Some of the newer ones will support RIP. But rarely will you see any of these home type routers support any of the advanced protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP and such. A few of them are now also supporting the ability to enter static routes, which is niceand they are improving with each generation but they still are not what you want to base your Cisco CCNA studies on.

2)Most of them come out of the box setup as DHCP servers. Unless you start playing around with those settings, this will conflict with some of the DHCP and other labs you should be doing in your CCNA lab. This generally leads to breaking your home network and then you have your spouse, parents, kits, etc complaining because you took down their Internet connection. The more they complain, the more you stress out and keep figure out the solution as everyone is yelling at you. Just dont do it!

3)Besides the ability to not support all the protocols a real Cisco router willthe Linksys/D-Link Cable/DSL routers will not be able to work seamlessly with many of the advanced security features you will find in a Cisco Router during your CCNA lab studies.

So what we suggest for the new Cisco CCNA student is to keep their home Linksys/D-Link Cable/DSL network separate from their Cisco CCNA lab network. Why besides the items listed above? Well another thing we tend to find is you are learning in the new CCNA lab network. You are going to break things and spend countless hours trying to figure out what you did wrong, how to fix it and what you broke. Many times you will never figure it out and just start over from scratch. Also one thing you will discover with Cisco routing is an issue with one Cisco router will propagate to other routers. For example, when an interface goes down on a router, the route is removed systematically from the route tables of all the routers. Thus routes are recalculated and you will be sent a different way to get to the destination. So long story short, we suggest in the beginning learning stages, keep your home network and CCNA lab network completely separate.

Integrating your home and CCNA networks sounds like a great idea until you totally mess it up, have no idea what you are doing or how to fix it while your spouse, kids, parents, whomever are yelling at you because they cant get to their myspace account.or worse yet, now you cant get your home network back working to the point where you can get to some of your favorite websites or email accounts. So just be patient and progress at a slow steady pace with your CCNA studies. Before you know it you will actually understand how to integrate the two networks from knowledge you gained through your studies and not because someone gave you an example to type in and follow. You will actually be able to sit down and figure it our for yourself. This is a true measure of your comprehension of the Cisco CCNA exam concepts and will provide you with a real life situation where you can test your Cisco CCNA expertise!

Interesting Information On Website Design

By Kevin Jones

Achieving optimal performance is the most important factor in a website design. It is a huge mistake to assume the belief those visitors needs to be entertained with fancy flash works which usually requires long loading time, when the truth is exactly the opposite.

Follow these basic rules for website design when creating your site and you can be assured of an optimally designed website you can be proud of.

1) Splash pages should be left out. The splash pages are the fancy pages you see when you enter a website. These pages use elaborate designs created with the purpose to entertain the visitor with fancy animations, brilliant photos and include welcoming words such as "hello" "welcome" or "click here to enter our website". They are pages with no purpose, and serves to discourage uses from fully utilizing the actual purpose of the website due to their slow loading time. This fanciful addition only serves to confuse the visitor who will likely leave your website immediately if loading time takes too long.

2) Banners must be kept minimal. The most common place for these large advertising banners to be placed is close to the page header but the bottom of the page is also quite popular too. Banner ad tends to be ignored by most web surfers so it is a total majority of the web surfers so they would a total waste of your website space. Instead, provide more valuable content and weave relevant affiliate links into your content, and let your visitors feel that they want to buy instead of being coerced.

3) Always use an easy navigational system Navigation should be made very simple so that even a young child can understand. Do stay away from any form of Flash based menu or even multi-tiered menu as they only serve to add more complication to the layout. If you make it difficult for them, they will leave your site. Have a sitemap added to the website design to help them find what they are looking for.

4) Let it be clear on the user where he is at the moment. When visitors are deeply engrossed in browsing your site, you will want to make sure they know which part of the site they are in at that moment. That way, they will be able to browse relevant information or navigate to any section of the site easily. This can easily be achieved by ensuring each page has a title and a textual 'breadcrumb trail' that clearly shows the links they have made to get where they are now. Never confuse your visitors because you will lose them very quickly as they become frustrated.

5) Audios are a bad idea. If you wish for your visitors to stay long enough to read the contents, do not loop your music file in a way that irritates. The sounds when added can enhance an experience, but when played over and over gain it can start to be irritating. Using audios may not always be a good idea, if you have to include them be sure to allow for some form of user control such as volume or muting ability. By applying all these website design tips we share, you can expect to reap long term benefits from continuous traffic from returning visitors to your website.

Hiring A Flash Web Designer On Your Team

By Chris Channing

Web design has many means of being developed, thanks to a wide array of technologies. One in particular is Macromedia Flash, a type of technology that allows for some astounding benefits that the average web design is devoid of.

Macromedia Flash is a type of media technology that allows developers to easily include animation and scripted elements in a website. The animation itself and effects it can create are highly valued for increasing conversions among business websites. By increasing the appeal of a product, and focusing attention, one can actually increase sales due to a proper web design.

Cross platform compatibility is a buzz-word in web design. It is highly sought after, since businesses want their website to function no matter what browser or operating system an Internet user is making use of. This is typically hard to accomplish, but Flash functions in such a way that it is not dependent upon the Browser or operating system. This means it is of the most compatible platforms to make use of in web design, if used correctly by the web designer.

Using Flash as a scripting language is also possible. Flash can communicate with databases, servers, and even make use of AJAX techniques that have become so popular on the Internet. Flash essentially acts like a programming language and an animation studio, all in one. For this reason, Flash developers are in high demand by design and development companies. Businesses, too, like to make use of the many benefits Flash provides.

Businesses that incorporate a certain amount of Flash into their website will also notice that they have a higher sense of credibility than websites that do not. This is due to the fact that Flash is able to create a much more stunning layout than a regular web design that is considered static. This shows to the user that the business is serious in its web design- and is not afraid to go a step further to attract new types of business.

Even though Flash is a great tool, do be sure not to over use it. Macromedia Flash can help make a website look legit and make it functional, but it isn't always the best choice for a full-site design. Bandwidth and speed limitations in addition to load times will make large Flash projects more of an annoyance than a favored form of web design and development.

In Conclusion

Flash continues to offer its importance in web design and development, but do know where to draw the line in over using it. If you aren't sure, contact a web design agency who is skilled in the art of Flash to take a look at your project and to provide advice.

Benefits of a Squeeze Page

By James T Maxwell

Does anyone really have a strict definition of what a squeeze page is? The answer is no. Squeeze pages can have different uses and mean different things to business owners. The one thing that many business owners agree on, however, is that squeeze pages have the purpose of collecting information about prospects. To be more specific, it's contact information and permission to contact prospects at another time.

It's true that there are different and more popular methods to do all of the above. But before you start dismissing squeeze pages, you should know one thing- they're also a great marketing device.

Why do squeeze pages exist?

Well, they exist because online business owners know that prospects aren't likely to buy from them on the first go-round. It'll take a bit of convincing, and that can be done by advertising on a webpage and making regular contact through email.

By virtue of their design, squeeze pages can help reach out to prospects and customers. That's their purpose. Gathering information about prospects and customers can help you with your marketing campaign.

How do they collect that information?

Squeeze pages dangle something in front of prospects that is impossible pass up. In order for prospects to get access to it, business owners require that prospects input their personal information. It could be a free report, free software or even more information about a particular product.

Asking for the right information

That usually depends on the business owner, but the most popular requested information is:

Names

Addresses

Information uses

That should be obvious- more marketing. By providing email addresses, prospects can be put on email subscriber lists. Business owners contact them later and tell them about their businesses and what they have to offer.

Squeeze pages simply give prospects the option to take a specific action or leave a website. The trick is to design the squeeze page so that prospects can't even imagine leaving.

When squeeze pages are optimized, a large amount of traffic visits them and business owners are knee-deep in prospects' information. If you're using squeeze pages, that means that you're sitting on a pile of valuable information and that you'll be able to study subscriber and buyer habits. You'll also have a new advertising avenue.

Given this, you can probably figure out that squeeze pages are great for leads.

But squeeze pages need maintenance. They won't be of any use to you unless you put the required work into them.

If prospects leave without giving you that information, the success of your squeeze page is questionable. It's all about opening doors to communication, building relationships with people who will then buy your product and turn into full customers.

The good thing about squeeze pages is that by creating them, you're doing most of your marketing research and plain old marketing at the same time. In that way, they're cost and time effective solutions to every business's goal of turning interested prospects into loyal customers.

Designing a squeeze page that is appealing to both your prospects and your target market is a surefire way to get you headed in the right direction.

How to build your Cisco CCNP Lab

The Cisco CCNP lab is one of the most difficult labs to build because it touches on so many different pieces of equipment. When you are building your Cisco CCNA lab, it is pretty easy as three Cisco router and three Cisco switches will put you in a pretty good position at a pretty reasonable price. Definitely a lot less then the price of attending a Cisco CCNA training class and you get to keep the equipment to practice on for as long as you like. When building a Cisco CCIE lab, you concentrate on one particular discipline such as CCIE Security, Voice, Service Provider, Storage or Routing and Switching so you only have to purchase Cisco equipment for that area of expertise.

Now with building your Cisco CCNP lab, you have to cover four different modules which encompass many different networking technologies. The modules are BSCI(Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks) which is basically advanced routing concepts extending everything you learned in your Cisco CCNA training to the next level. So this module requires a plethora of Cisco routers to complete most of these CCNP labs. BCMSN(Building a Cisco Multilayer Switched Network) which also extends on what you learned in your CCNA training from a Cisco Switching perspective adding in new concepts such as Layer 3 switching and QoS to a greater degree. This module really gets into the nitty gritty of Cisco Switching and thus requires some of the higher end, more expensive switches that are capable of Layer 3 switching. Additionally in a perfect scenario, you will need multiple of these Cisco switches to complete your labs and really get the full experience of the topics. Next we have ISCW(Implementing Secure Converged Wide Area Networks) which covers how to expand your current enterprise network to remote sites and teleworkers with a focus on configuring VPN client access and securing the remote access methods. Many of these concepts can be accomplished on the Cisco routers you purchased for your BSCI module, but the possibility of adding in a VPN concentrator or PIX firewall is nice, but not an absolute requirement if you are on a tight budget. Finally the last CCNP module is ONT(Optimizing Converged Cisco Networks) which focuses on how to get the most out of your existing network by prioritizing your traffic utilizing QoS. Much of this is applied to voice packets which is time sensitive packets that require QoS attention. In this module you will also be reviewing basic wireless security setups. So much of the QoS items will be exercised on the Cisco routers you purchased for the BSCI track and the Cisco switches you already purchased for the BCMSN track. So now you see that to a large degree, you will be able to use the equipment in the first two modules to support the concepts in the last two modules. We try to strike a balance between the amount of equipment, price of the equipment and labs that can be performed as most people do not have the budget to go out and spend $30,000 to cover every single concept that is presented in the Cisco CCNP curriculum. So that is what makes it so difficult to build a Cisco CCNP lab at a reasonable price.

CCNP Lab Approach

Now that you have an idea of what you are looking to accomplish in your Cisco CCNP lab from an equipment perspective, lets see how we might approach this. If you are not real strong on the features, pros and cons of the various routers, you may want to review our Cisco CCNA lab suggestions. Not only are there suggestions on building a Cisco CCNA lab, but we also cover many of the features and pros and cons of the various Cisco routers and Cisco switches.

Now if you are only just beginning your Cisco certification studies looking to obtain your CCNA, but are looking ahead to your CCNP, I applaud you! Network engineers must be able to sharpen their skill set of planning ahead of capacity. In this case, you are planning ahead for your Cisco certification career. So if you are at the Cisco CCNA level and are ready to purchase a CCNA lab but you want to make sure it scales well to your future Cisco CCNP studies, well then look at our Cisco Advanced CCNA/Starter CCNP kits. These were developed to give you the best experience possible from a Cisco CCNA perspective with the understanding that this kit will be used as a seed for you CCNP kit. All of the items in this kit will be able to be utilized in your Cisco CCNP lab so you will not be wasting any money. As with most things in the world, the more you pay for the kit, the more features you will get to play with in your Cisco lab. These Advanced CCNA/Starter CCNP kits are great if you do not have all the money for a full blown CCNP kit now or if you are 100% sure you will want to continue on to the Cisco CCNP certification. But then again, who doesnt want to progress in their career?

Common Cisco CCNP Lab Questions 12.4 IOS 12.4 IOS is a requirement for the routers. Says who? Why cant I use 12.3? Well, I guess you can, but when it states on the CCNP exam page that you should be using 12.4, I tend to listen to Cisco since it is their test and they get to modify it at their discretion! So what does that mean to you? 2500 routers and the normal 2600 routers cannot support 12.4. So if you have the budget, jump right to the 3640 or 2600XM series routers for your CCNP lab. They are the two most economical routers that will support 12.4. The 3640 is a modular router that comes with no built-in Ethernet or serial ports, but has 4 network module slots you can put various Ethernet, Serial and Voice cards into. The 2600XM series has one open network module slot and two WIC slots. The nice thing about the 2600XM series is that it has a built-in 100mb Ethernet port!

What Can I Do With My Old 2500 or non-XM 2600 routers? Even though Cisco states that the new CCNP exams are based on 12.4, that does not mean that you have to throw out all of your 2500 and/or non-XM 2600 routers and start from scratch. We can incorporate them into your new CCNP lab environment. However you must realize that you may not be able to see every feature work on each router since some of you routers may be running 12.3 and other 12.4. The old saying that you get what you pay for is applicable in this situation. The larger your budget is, the more features you will get. It is just like buying a car. The more money you have, the more bells and whistles you get.

Why Do Your Kits Mostly Have 3640s and 2600XM Routers? We have included the 3640 routers are they are the most economical way to build out your 12.4 lab supporting IPv6 and SDM. To support IPv6 and SDM you must have 128/32 on each of these routers. Since these are the two waves of the future and they are on the tests, you should be able to perform labs incorporating each.

How Many Routers Do I Need? Another great question! The more the better! Actually, we need to make it complex enough that we can see routes propagate, DHCP relay agents working, load balancing, route summarization, different OSPF stub types, Frame-Relay, IS-IS Intra-Area vs Inter-Area addressing, multi-casting, BGP groups and IPv6 on a dual-stack router. Wow, that was a mouthful! So more than two or three routers is a safe assumption to build your CCNP lab. We like to see about 8 routers in your lab. You can see the available CCNP labs we offer to review the specific Cisco models. Our Premium kit will match our lab courseware very well. The Standard and Economy kits will match closely and you will be able to comprehend most of the concepts by running the commands on the equipment you have even though it may not exactly match up to the labs you will be performing. So if you can only afford one of those kits, dont worry, you will still get tons of great experience from those kits! *Note, some people ask to be able to perform every concept that is covered in the book. That is not realistic for most customers who are self studying as this will cost well in excess of $20,000 per person.

How Many Switches Do I Need? We think four switches is a pretty good number for your CCNP lab. That gives you the ability to configure various scenarios which require multiple switches such as trunking in multilayer switched networks, multi-casting, QoS, VTP concepts such as pruning, creating loops and suppressing them with STP, controlling root bridge elections, multiple spanning tree environments, UplinkFast and BackboneFast, EtherChannel and Layer 3 through 7 switching. Two Layer 3 switches plus 2950 switches seem to work pretty well which being cost conscientious.

What Is A Layer 3 Switch? Wait until you get to BCMSN exam as this is a cool concept. This is a switch that can also do routing! So no need to bounce the traffic out of the switch, to a router only to have it sent right back to the same switch because the destination is on a different subnet. These switches will route that traffic within the switch and save precious bandwidth and time! We find that in a perfect world, you will have two of these switches, but you can get by with one. This way you can see how they communicate, trunk together and such.

Can You Give Me A General Idea Of The Lab Environment? That will slightly change as per the kit you purchase. However in following the labs you will for the most part have a frame relay switch interconnecting four different areas in which summarizations can happen. What Is A Terminal Server Router And Why Do I Want One? A very nice to have is a 2509 or 2511 access/terminal server router. This way you do not have to keep moving the console cable from router to router as you are configuring them. You can access all your routers and switches via the terminal server and connected octal cable. This is not going to function in your lab, but it is nice to have to make your lab much easier to use.

If you already have your Cisco CCNA certification, the above should have made a lot of sense to you. Also congratulations on your CCNA! You should have a very good grasp on the different features of the various Cisco routers and Cisco switches. Now you will just need to know what Cisco routers and Cisco switches you need to purchase to build your Cisco CCNP lab.

But there is a light at the end of the tunnel! You will be able to use all these pieces of equipment in your Cisco CCIE lab so they will not go to waste! Especially with the CiscoKits Trade-Up program which enables you to upgrade your Cisco routers and Cisco switches you purchased from CiscoKits. Please see the Trade-Up Program for details. But since you have most of the CCIE equipment already, you are well on your way to acing your Cisco CCNP exam and then conquering your Cisco CCIE certification.

What should be the qualities of good website content?

By Debra Brian Hunt

Writing is a form of expression which has extensive and fascinating past. It was the way of documentation in the earlier period and continues in the current days as well. Though computers, type writers have taken the place of the pen as the recent and faster modes of documentation, the significance of writing itself has not lessen a crumb.

Writing articles not only demands good language talents, but you should also have good environment understanding of the topic. While writing content for websites, investigate your topic carefully so that it's easier to write and the information in your article is spot on. Plus, strong realistic sentences make up a stronger write-up. It is better not to make use of over-used words. They compose write-ups look old and might irk the readers.

With the aim of grabbing the readers' interest from the first line, come up with a good starting paragraph to your write-up which explicates the topic. Always remember that 'well begun is half done!'

One more thing that should always be kept in mind is to use easy words. Not only does it craft writing easier, it also makes it simple to be read. Websites get hundreds and thousands of surfers everyday. The write-up should be simple and logical for all. Also, keep away from using acronyms, or words from particular area or lingo.

Always remember to stay distinct. While writing content for website, try to hold on to the given issue. Don't put in preventable details or reasons. Try to confine the reader's mind from the first line and keep it that way till the end.

Longer write-ups require more concentration to read. Also, longer articles aren't read as much as shorter and precise articles. So try to stay to the point while writing and do not add in unnecessary details. It's important to write in smaller paragraphs, as bigger paragraphs can cause confusion.

Learning to type is a great help in writing. It reduces the probability of making errors. The quicker you are at typing the more you can write. Also, faster typing means concluding work more swiftly. To avoid duplication, do not use the copy and paste technique.

Books and websites are a good source of information but write in your own words as that will make your content more creative. You should try to put in different words, proper punctuation and interesting facts to make it more appealing. If you put in information from other sources, it's always better to cite the source.

Before writing, make up a sketch of your thoughts. This assists in keeping sentences in their place. It also works as brainstorming, and helps to think of more points. Fiction writing is diverse from non-fiction. Facts and dates in non-fiction need to be checked and accurate. While writing fiction, think of a plot first and then start with your story. A story with an argument is more attention-grabbing. Always remember to revise your writing at the end to reduce the chances of oversight.

How to Set Up Your Website

By charlie reese

You've located a perfect marketing niche for your product or service. You've got your business plan and marketing strategies ready to go. You have your domain name and hosting service in place. What you don't have is your web design layout. While you may plan on hiring a web design firm to make this happen, you're well advised to put in a little effort of your own before hiring a professional.

No one knows your business better than you do. You know the flavor of the appearance you want to convey to your customers. While a good web page designer may have the visual elements of good graphic design down pat, only you know what will be of special appeal to your niche market base. You also may have the inside scoop on marketing techniques that will edge you up in your search engine rankings. These factors may be totally out of your web design layout expert's purview. They are looking to create a pretty page that will please a visitor, once they've landed on your page. Web page designers are not usually conversant in SEO issues or spider turn-offs. So it's worth your while to make a mock-up that takes these important issues in to account.

Your page composition is a good starting point. Your home page must be inviting, while fulfilling sales objectives. As soon as your visitor hits your home page, you want them to see your main sales offerings, without having to scroll down. A good web design layout makes these sales points immediately visible, not hidden in the last half of the page. You want them to find your most valuable propositions right off the bat. Make a mock-up of your site's web design with this in mind. Ad placement is another important component of a good web design layout. Make sure you make it clear what ads you want your visitors to see up front. Your web designer is skilled in visuals and graphic design, but may not understand the importance of ad placement.

Good web design layout must also take into account what type of software will be detrimental to your search engine rankings. Flash(R) slide shows used to be a huge problem. The search engine spiders would essentially flip out when they encountered Flash(R) displays, resulting in no future visits, or indexing, of that page. While the spider bots can now deal with them, after a fashion, there are still a number of details to be taken into consideration before integrating these sophisticated software programs without damaging your rankings.

A good web design layout must also consider different browsers. When you engage a web page designer, make sure they know the problems associated with dealing with different browsers. The majority of web surfers use Internet Explorer. However, Firefox and Opera are competitors. Each of these browsers display your web design layout differently. If your design layout accommodates IE exclusively, you're going to lose out on that segment of potential customers using a different browser. Your page may appear distorted and unprofessional in appearance, with strange effects that will have that visitor surfing away forever, never to return.

If you make the effort to create a mock-up that incorporates these marketing concerns into your web design layout, you'll end up with a site that draws the maximum number of visitors. Let your web master take care of the graphic elements.

Get To The Number One Position On Google

By Michael Fleischner

Getting started online is now easier than ever. When I began doing business online I quickly developed an understanding of html and web design. The process of creating new web pages and promoting the code to a live server was complicated at first but got easier with time. Once I was online however, I quickly figured out that having a good design sense wasn't enough to give me top rankings.

After I learned that good website design requires integration of SEO best practices, I was on a mission to learn more about search engine optimization principles being used by top websites and applying them to my own. It took me a good three months to learn about SEO and design principles because not a lot of good information existed on the Web. Once I understood the fundamentals, I began applying them to my own website.

After applying some basic improvements to my website design, I only saw a small impact on my rankings. I seriously expected to be in the number one position for my site name as well as a particular keyword phrase I was trying to optimize for. But the small improvement motivated me to continue reading and learning more about SEO.

Even though I only saw moderate results with what I learned, it was enough to get me hooked. I finally understood that search results could be influenced not only by how you design your website, but through dozens of other factors. Some of these factors you control through your website and other via building connections throughout the web between authoritative websites and your own.

Put your time and effort into choosing the right keywords and optimize your site around those specific keywords. The Internet is crowded. When first starting out, dont try to outrank Nike for the keyword sneakers " its not going to happen.

Build a simple website. Dont get fancy and dont try to use the latest and greatest programming language. Start with a basic website coded in html. The search engines prefer this and you can make updates easily.

Focus on link building. Submit articles, focus on acquiring one-way links, and develop a strategy for updating content on a regular basis so others will link to your site. Especially for Google, link building is an incredibly powerful tool.

In internet marketing, there are tons of professed gurus who can show you the latest techniques for number one rankings. Based on my more than ten years of marketing experience and search engine optimization efforts, Id rather keep things simple.

The good news is that although these techniques take time, they work. No more searching for the silver bullet " keep things simple. Additionally, be sure to research software or services that can help you along the way. Don't be afraid to get help and persist until you achieve your goal. It worked for me and it can work for you too.

Search Engine Optimization For Newbies

By Michael Fleischner

A common question I'm often asked from people who are new to Internet marketing is whether or not they should be concerned with search engine optimization. What often happens is that after a while, new website owners don't receive any traffic and they start to wonder why. The truth of the matter is that now they are focused on search engine optimization which determines where and how your website is ranked on search engines.

The best way for me to explain search engine optimization basics is to first provide an overview of how search engines work. Although optimization techniques should take all major search engines into consideration, the reality is that by optimizing your website or blog for Google is the best investment you can make.

SEO has an impact on search engine rankings. In essence your are controlling where your site ranks for a given search term or phrase. Some people feel that having this control is not fair or somehow manipulates search engines in a bad way. I disagree with this statement in that SEO allows you to accentuate the positive related to your website or blog. Yes, people try to game the system but they need to be identified and taken off the web. In such a high stakes game as Internet marketing, some are prone to stretch the boundaries and do things that are inappropriate.

When optimizing for the web, there are different methods that work for different types of websites. Before describing these methods, consider the functionality of search engines themselves. A great way to illustrate this is by thinking about a common search. When users type a search term into a major search engine, the engine returns a list of results based on their algorithm. Each algorithm is different but is designed to return those web pages most closely aligned with the given search term.

How does the search engine determine what listings are relevant? Ah, the magic of search engine optimization. Although each search engine has their own unique methodology for determining which sites are truly relevant to the search term entered, online marketing experts have found common principles that apply, explaining search engine results listings.

In a single article its difficult to explain all of the nuances of these techniques, but know that common SEO principles exist and can help you improve your ranking on major search engines. For example, having your keywords as part of your website URL, title, and web page has a positive impact on results for those seeking information related to your keyword.

Search engine optimization provides a thorough explanation of how to design your website, how to improve your Google PR, and most importantly, how to increase ranking based on an in-bound linking strategy. In fact, there are informational products and services out there that do nothing other than coach you on the best methods to develop links to your website.

For anyone doing business online, I recommend having a working knowledge of search engine optimization. Although I don't recommend trying to become and SEO expert, I do feel that it's important to have an awareness of basic SEO principles. This is important because everything you do, from naming your web pages, to developing partnerships needs to consider the implications of search engine rankings.

Woudl Your Business Like To Know Exactly How Does SEO Optimisation Help Your Business?

By Alan Redman

Maybe you have spent an amount of time researching online and encountered the term search engine optimization or commonly called SEO. You may have asked? What the heck is SEO?

SEO or search engine optimization is the process of increasing the amount of visitors to a website by ranking high in a search engine?s search results. Naturally, if a website ranks high in the search engine?s result, more users will visit that website.

Most global Internet users rely heavily on search engines and directories whenever they search for information they want. In marketing your website or blog, your main concern should definitely to be ranked high in search engine results.

The web pages regularly visited by global Internet users are those on the top lists in the search result pages. Surely, you would want your website or blog to be on the top lists so you can have more visitors.

Keep in mind that the traffic your website is generating is basically its life itself. Without traffic your website or blog is basically dead and useless. Naturally, when nobody is visiting your website, you won?t be able to have advertisers renting space in your website or blog. It won?t be possible then, to make money from your website.

Some people consider Search Engine Optimization (SEO) as the more technical part of web marketing. It has been proven that SEO helps in promoting sites and at the same time it requires a little bit of technical knowledge. SEO can also be defined as an act of optimizing a web page or an entire website to make it more search engine-friendly with the aim of getting the top spot of the search results.

However, your website?s success would not be reached especially if you fail to do the basic rules of SEO. And even if you do all the necessary SEO works, you are still not guaranteed to reach your goal. Thus, it is advisable that you set realistic goals. For example, for one keyword you would aspire to get into the top 10 Google results, as oppose to being in the number one spot for 10 keywords in 5 search engine?s result s.

SEO is not considered advertising even if it helps in increasing a website?s traffic. The basic idea behind the SEO techniques is to get the number one spot because your site is relevant to a particular keyword search, not because you pay.

For a higher rank in search engine results, take time to SEO your website!

About Search Engine Optimization

By Mert Erkal

Search Engine Optimization is a process of choosing the most appropriate targeted keyword phrases related to your site and ensuring that this ranks your site highly in search engines so that when someone searches for specific phrases it returns your site on tops.

It basically involves fine tuning the content of your site along with the HTML and Meta tags and also involves appropriate link building process. The most popular search engines are Google, Yahoo, MSN Search, AOL and Ask Jeeves. Search engines keep their methods and ranking algorithms secret, to get credit for finding the most valuable search-results and to deter spam pages from clogging those results.

A search engine may use hundreds of elements while ranking the listings where the factors themselves and the weight each carries may change endlessly. Algorithmic programs can change so widely that a webpage that ranks #1 in a particular search engine could rank #200 in another search engine. Brand new sites need not be "submitted" to search engines to be listed.

A simple link from a well established site will get the search engines to visit the new site and begin to spider its contents. It can take a few days to even weeks from the referring of a link from such an established site for all the main search engine spiders to commence visiting and indexing the new site.

If you're not able to search and select keywords and work on your own search engine ranking, you might prefer to employ someone to work with you on these issues.

Search engine marketing (SEM) and marketing companies, will look at the plan for your web site and make suggestions to increase your search engine ranking and site traffic. If you like, they will also cater ongoing consultation and reporting to monitor your site and make recommendations for editing and improvements to keep your web site traffic flow and your search engine ranking high.

Usually your SEO experts work with your web designer to establish an integrated plan right away so that all aspects of design are considered simultaneously.

Do You Need Help on Choosing the Right Domain Names?

By Noah Chapman

The most important goal when choosing your domain name is to seduce visitors to have the desire to enter them in their browsers. It is like how book covers are to novels.

However, being unreasonably creative doesn't make for a good domain name either. Why? It's because if a domain name is creative but not keyword enhanced, search engine bots won't be able to index it in search engine listings. So, basically, your domain name must be both catchy yet search engine optimized.

You can reach these objectives by doing some research before choosing your domain name. You want to focus on finding popular search engine keyword that can be used within your domain name. There are many various keyword analyzers out there that can help you accomplish this task. Simply query them in the search engines.

Using the keyword analyzer, simply enter one keyword or phrase that best explains your website. Then choose one of the keyword results that best describes the purpose of your website. By doing so, your domain name will become search engine optimized and be attractive to search engine bots.

Once you have chosen a specific keyword, you are ready to start selecting your actual domain name. Most domain name companies will tell you whether or not the domain name you've chosen is available. If it is not available, it will return a list of recommended domain names you can chose from. Take advantage of this tool by first entering your selected keyword.

If the keyword you've chosen is not available as a domain name, look through the suggested domain names the domain company gives you. If you can find a domain name that still has your main keyword and it still ends with .com, you might want to consider it. If not, you have to be more creative.

You can be more creative with your domain name and still use your keyword by using 'filler' words, numbers, or phrases. You can incorporate fillers such as 'a,' 'an' or 'the' before your keyword or number fillers at the end of the phrase.

The search engines tend to not look at fillers. By including fillers, your keyword is still present and you'll still have a good chance at getting indexed by the search engines while having a domain name that is memorable and catchy.

But what if you couldn't get .com using your specific keyword? Well, sometimes it is better to stick with lesser-used extension because the keyword is just so popular. Extensions that still get noticed include .net, .biz and .org.

You could also consider using country ot state-based extensions if you don't mind international or local-based marketing. It is better to rank number one in France's version of google than to be number 200 or worse in America's version of Google.

Nice website design ideas

By Ross Taylor

Achieving optimal performance is the most important factor in a website design. One common error found in a web design is the existence of large and heavy files that require tremendous amount of patience on the part of the visitor to actually be able to view it.

Here are five important website design rules of thumb to observe which should ensure your website performs well. 1) Splash pages are not a good idea

1) Splash pages are not a bright idea; Splash pages are the first pages you see when you arrive at a website. These pages use elaborate designs created with the purpose to entertain the visitor with fancy animations, brilliant photos and include welcoming words such as hello, welcome or click here to enter our website. They are merely fancy additions without any real functions at all. Give them the value of your site up front without the splash page.

2) Avoid excessive banner advertisements, Normally you will find these at the top of the web page where they will be advertising something (not always related to the site) but sometimes they will be elsewhere on the page as well. Even the newbie to the internet have trained themselves to ignore banner ads so placing them would only waste precious real estate space. A better solution would be to add useful web contents and weave affiliate links artfully into them.

3) Make the navigation as simple as possible; Keep navigation simple so that the youngest user can use it. Leave out any form of complicated menu that is flash based or the use of multi-tiered menu: they only add to complicate the layout. Remember, if users find it hard to navigate, they will leave very soon after landing on your home page. Your website design should include the construction a sitemap that will make it easy for them to find what they want.

4) There should be a clear indicator showing where the user is currently on the website; When visitors are deeply engrossed in browsing your site, you will want to make sure they know which part of the site they are in at that moment. This way, they can head to the right information they are looking for. This can be achieved by making sure that each page has its own title and some form of trail that shows them which links they have been to and which is new for them. Don't confuse your visitors because confusion means they will leave!

5) Do consider the need to include audio in you website; If your visitor is going to stay a long time at your site, reading your content, you will want to make sure they're not annoyed by some audio looping on and on at your website. While some music can enhance the experience, even the most beautiful of sounds becomes irritating if it is played continuously. Using audios may not always be a good idea, if you have to include them be sure to allow for some form of user control such as volume or muting ability. If you use all these tricks of website design effectively, you will in time that your visitors will likely return again and again to your site.

Five Mistake People Make When They Choose a Domain Name

By Jan Shimano

So you have made the big decision to start your own business. Congratulations!! That's one big decision down but now the next one is also a very important one, and that is the choosing of your domain name. You want it to be a perfect fit for you and your business.

Too many people rush through this process not understanding how difficult it might be for them later on, if they choose incorrectly now.

Here are five of the biggest mistakes people make when choosing their domain name:-

* THE DOMAIN NAME HAS VERY LITTLE RELEVANCE TO YOUR BUSINESS. When prospects come to your website they are expecting something in particular. If you are not providing the information that they were expecting, they will immediately leave your site, never to return again. Your domain name has to make it very clear to the prospect what type of information he is going to find when he visits your site.

* THEY DO NOT CHOOSE THEIR OWN PERSONAL NAME. It is a very good idea to purchase your own name for your domain. You might not be in a position to use it immediately, but I would suggest you go ahead and get it now. If you become very successful, someone could try to capitalize on your success by purchasing your name. There is nothing to stop them from doing this. I know of one very well known guru that cannot use his own personal name without adding dashes to it, for this very reason.

* THEY CHOOSE DOMAINS THAT ARE CONFUSING. You want your domain to be easily understood. On occasion you are going to have to recite your website address to people over the phone. Say for instance your site was "helpforyou.com". People might try to type in "help4you.com". You don't want to have to spend time trying to explain how to enter the address. It is my recommendation that you stay away from using numbers that could also be words.

* THEY PUT DASHES IN BETWEEN THE WORDS IN THEIR DOMAIN NAME. Choose a name that is quite easy to type. If you are like me, you find it awkward to type dashes in between words. So avoid anything that doesn't flow easily, such as dashes.

* THEY DON'T CHOOSE A DOMAIN NAME WITH LASTING POWER. This is the name that is identifying your business. You want to choose one that is good for the long haul. You don't want to choose a name that is trendy right now. Trends come and go. Make sure it is a name that you will feel comfortable with for many years to come.

If you take these five things into consideration when you are choosing your domain name, then you should end up with something that you are going to be happy with and that represents you in the way you want it to.

Dont forget that your domain name is just like a snapshot of you...make sure it depicts you in the most favourable light.

Find This Cute Area Of Houston On A Texas State Map

By Madeline Hernandez

Regarding a Texas state map, there are quite a few places to write about and many more that will be coming up. With several new Real Estate Developments in Dallas and Houston alone, it is hard to believe there is this so called, recession. I guess it all depends. . .

Usually when I take my road trips between Dallas and Houston I try to have as much fun as possible in the area between, making unnecessary stops and trying to meet the town's people along the way. This is where a good Texas state map comes in handy.

I never really had the desire to go to Houston and spend any significant amount of time as my Texas state map had shown Houston as being a city with an abundance of people and not so much space to accommodate everyone. I did not have this experience when I went to visit a friend and ended up staying for almost a week. I had a lovely time!

If you look on a Texas state map you may or may not find certain areas, it depends on the version of map and exactly for what you were searching. In the particular areas we spent time, they could not have been more perfect for the amount of time I was in Houston.

A Texas state map is a necessity for me as I don't usually travel around Texas by plane. There are too many wonderful spots you would not otherwise get to visit. While in Houston, I had the pleasure of visiting a little Caf by the name, Salento. Adorable! And the people, patrons and staff, were so nice.

The other place not on my Texas state map was a quaint little coffee shop by the name of Salento. It was the perfect spot for sitting a moment to read e-mail and get a little work done in a nice quiet environment. I actually had the nerve to skype my sister who happens to live in Africa and everyone was still so very friendly and accommodating, curious and smiling.

There is quite the population density, of which I never pay much attention on any Texas state map, that would lead you to believe you will be in for quite an over abundance of traffic and crowded spaces. The traffic really wasn't any worse than Dallas and I actually had a wonderful time people watching.

I already have a favorite little place to buy the best Brioche! In Texas! If you get a chance while in Houston, stop by the adorable little Croissant Brioche. They have fresh squeezed juice in addition to coffee and pastries and also serve wonderful soups and sandwiches for lunch!

This concludes another look at a Texas state map and the journey that lies within. There are quite a few places to write about and many more that will be popping up with all of the new Real Estate Development projects in Dallas and Houston.

Nice website design ideas

By Ross Taylor

When it comes to your website design, never compromise efficiency for a beautiful design. The existence of large, slow loading flash files on some website shows that some webmaster do not require the basic understanding if what constitutes an optimally designed website.

Here are some tips to help with your website design projects in the future.

The first pages of a website that consists of dazzling fancy displays are the splash pages. They are dazzling pages that have images with words such as welcome or click here to enter. In fact, they are just a 'pretty vase' that serves no real purpose. The most important thing is not to allow any room for users to think about leaving your site, and this is almost impossible if you are using fancy splash pages with slow loading times.

4) There needs to be a clear indicator where the user is on the website; You will need to have a sitemap to facilitate the user to be in control. That way, they will be able to browse relevant information or navigate to any section of the site easily. Make sure that every page has its own title and that some form of breadcrumb trail is used to track the visitors step throughout the entire website. Any type of confusion drives your visitors away.

5) Do not use audio; Your favorite tune may be repulsive to some visitors, so use music sparingly. A sound file should not be played continuously it can be irritating on the user. When adding audio to your website, make sure to include some form of user control that allows them to mute or lower the sound as required. If you wish for the visitors to return to your site, learn to apply all these website design rules and you can reap the benefits of long term traffic.
