Texas Web Designers are the new High-Tech Gurus

By Jordan FeRoss

Texas Web Designers are worrying whether or not there will be any business left for them if the national economy continues to decline. Unemployment rates are rising at alarming rates. The cost of living is soaring. So is it any question that we are in a recession? Well, that depends on where you live. There are some nooks and crannies where the economy has remained fairly stable. Texas is one of them. Fortunately, the real estate bubble hasn't burst here, yet. We've also benefited from the dramatic increase in oil prices. Discoveries like the Barnet Shale have put Texas back on the map, at least in terms of oil discovery and refining.

But another advantage we have is our booming technology sector, especially in major metropolitan, a fact that has led many to describe it as the New Silicon Valley. And Texas Web Designers stand to profit greatly if they play their cards right.

A number of legislative and tort reforms have allowed small and large businesses alike to thrive in the DFW, Houston and Austin metroplex. One of the bills that will greatly affect Texas Web Designers is the Texas Emerging Technology Fund, created in 2005, which will devote more than $200 Million to high-tech businesses, creating jobs and growth in the Texas economy.

The technology sector has been about as secure as anyone could hope, which is apparent to Texas Web Designers. Businesses functioning in the IT area, like ISPs and web search portals only lost 100 jobs from 2007 to 2008. When compared to manufacturing or agriculture, it becomes obvious that Texas is poised to emerge as the new leader in high-tech business development. Austin is even known as "Silicon Hills", and N. Dallas as "Silicon Prairie", because of the presence of high-tech conglomerates like HP/EDS, Dell and TI (Texas Instruments).

The Construction industry is also steady, a fact which should give us some encouragement. In fact, it experienced a 4% increase from 2007, which meant an additional 25,000 jobs. Other industries like hospitality & leisure experienced similar growth - 70K new jobs between the two. The upshot of this is that Texas Web Designers have more businesses to sell to and market for.

In order to combat these practices, new businesses immigrating to Texas really need to investigate all their options before choosing a web design firm to work with. Don't just willy-nilly choose a web designer that somebody heard of on a Google banner ad. Do a Google search for Texas Web Designers and limit your choices to the firms falling in the first page. These will be your number one options. Anything beyond that and you're working with the bottom of the barrel.
