The Latest and Greatest Trends in Website Design

By Juan Hines

There are too many business owners out there that don't know anything about web design. Sure, they know what they want to say on their website, but when it comes to putting it on the computer they fail to get everything on the page in just the right way that allows customers to find what they are looking for. Most often, these business owners are just novices at designing websites, which is why they fail. If you are unsure about what your business website needs because you don't have the experience, here is what you need to know.

The first tip for website design is to put everything on paper first. It is a lot easier to look at paper and to plan it out than it is to try to do everything on the computer and later have to change it ten times before you decide how you want it to look exactly. Another advantage of having your web design laid out on paper is that you can have people look at it, and if they can't find the things that you asked them to find, you will know that it is going to be even more difficult to do on a screen. You don't have to write down all of your text, just make sure you get your layout organized and all of the links mapped out.

Before, the goal of web design was to get your website to the top of the search engine results page. Every business owner wants that coveted number one position, and now it is going to take a clever design to get you there. Before, you could just stuff your pages with keywords, making text that was rubbish and rocket to the top because of this. Now, that isn't going to work and the search engine bots are going to label your page as junk if you have a page like this. Plus, in addition to having a high ranked page, you are also going to want to have one that is customer friendly and easy to read.

The final thing you should remember is to not neglect your other tags. If you don't know anything about HTML, you are probably going to want to get someone else to do this. Remembering to put meta tags and description tags on all of your pages, and to use your headlines as wisely as possible is going to make your web design a lot better.

Depending on what type of business you have, you may have a different web design that best suits your business. However, despite what type of business you have, you are going to want to keep your website design clean and simple. If you are unsure, a website design company can help you with this, but most business owners should be able to design their business's website with a lot of hard work and perseverance.
