Important tips and SEO Basics

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the lifeblood of any website business. You could have the best site in the world, but no visitors mean that it is a waste of time and money.

SEO has the potential of bringing millions of visitors anywhere in the world to your site. They all have the potential to purchase your goods and services once there and bring in a tidy profit for you hard earned efforts.

Ranking No. 1 in google is not easy, otherwise everyone would be making millions on the internet. You have to be clever and implement an SEO plan to beat your competition and make you rank above them for your industry keywords.

Use keyword tools like google adwords tool or wordtracker to generate a list of relevant keywords. These tools can tell you what people are searching for on the internet and how many searches there are approx every day.

On site optimisation - here, you go through all the pages of your web site and optimize them with keywords you discovered in the last step. Link every page with two keyword phrases and make sure these keywords are in your page titles, H1, H2, H3 tags as well as in the alt descriptions of your pictures.

Try to make the text as natural sounding as possible i.e. use the keywords normally and don't stuff them. all over your text. The Search engine robots can notice spamming and penalise you.

Link Building - This will be the most time consuming and difficult task you will have to preform when optimising your website. The search engines see relevant incoming links to your website as a vote of confidence.

The best way gain links is to create compelling content for your site that people will want to link to. Directory and article submissions are common techniques people use to grow links, as well as direct solicitations to website owners who share the same goal as you do.

SEO is a black are that takes time and patience. The first aim of your new site should be to create a site that people will like. This is the surest way to be successful in the long run.
